Dallin Museum’s Indigenous Peoples gallery.
Do you love art, and want to share your passion with others?
Arlington's Cyrus Dallin Art Museum seeks volunteer tour guides to introduce visitors to the museum. Tour guides draw attention to the collection of works by the celebrated Utah-born sculptor who lived and worked in Arlington for more than 40 years.
The museum is open on Saturdays and Sundays, from noon to 4:00 p.m. Tour guides work two-hour shifts -- noon to 2:00 p.m, and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Volunteers typically work at least twice a month.
Dallin is best known for the Paul Revere Monument in the North End and Appeal to the Great Spirit in front of Boston's Museum of Fine Arts. He also sculpted many iconic sculptures in Arlington, including the Menotomy Hunter and the Robbins Memorial Flagstaff.
In addition to being a sculptor and arts educator, Dallin was an advocate for Indigenous rights in the United States. Anyone interested in arts, history, museum education and meeting new people are encouraged to volunteer as a tour guide, regardless of experience level.

Volunteers are needed to lead tours of the historic Jason Russell House on weekends from June through October.
The house is the site of the bloodiest fighting on the first day of the American Revolution on April 19, 1775, and its walls still bear musket ball holes from the skirmish on that day. Contents of the house and its new exhibit, “Menotomy: Road to Revolution,” further enrich the story of that historic day and create a vivid picture of 18th- and 19th-century life in Arlington.
Guide training is set for Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m.- to 4:30 p.m. For more information, email
