Co-founders Emily Patel and Sarah Short are sisters who launched The Roasted Granola out of their home kitchen in 2013. They began to grow a granola-loving following at Lexington Farmers’ Market before expanding into additional farmers’ markets and local grocery stores, such as Sophia’s Greek Pantry in Belmont and Wilson Farm in Lexington.

Over the past five years, the sister duo has transformed into a family operation as their team has grown. Their family-oriented approach has also led them to cultivate strong relationships with collaborating local businesses.

The pair began selling their granola because they believed that they had produced a unique combination of deliciousness and wholesomeness that needed to be shared. Five years later, they say, that drive to provide superior quality food combined with the pair’s vision of enriching their local community has inspired them to open The Roasted Granola Café, a space defined by the lovely combination of granola, coffee and good company.
