Wolide Yessuf, 18, of Cambridge, is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in North Bergen, N.J., YourArlington partner Patch reported Wednesday, July 28.
In a report confirmed by Chief Julie Flaherty, authorities said he met the victim on social media and traveled with her and another juvenile girl from Massachusetts to a motel in North Bergen.
There, Yessuf provided the victim with drugs and alcohol before sexually assaulting her, the prosecutor in Hudson County, N.J., said.
Yessuf was arrested in Arlington on a warrant at 1:45 p.m. Monday, July 26. He is awaiting extradition to New Jersey, where he will face charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
